Member Hour: Advancing Circular Bioeconomy Systems

Join us April 27 at 1pm eastern for an informative webinar as we continue to explore the role of ASABE membership and external partners in transitioning to sustainable bioeconomy systems. Alicia Modenbach will provide a comprehensive update on the efforts of ASABE members in advancing circular bioeconomy systems.

This presentation marks the beginning of a new series of Member Hour webinars dedicated to exploring the latest innovations in circular bioeconomy systems.

During this session, Modenbach will offer an exclusive insight into the CBS Day mini-symposium held in conjunction with the 2023 annual international meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. She will also share the latest developments on new workshops and various opportunities available for ASABE members interested in circular bioeconomy systems.

Lecturer in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Kentucky, Modenbach has played an essential role in advancing ASABE's Circular Bioeconomy Systems Initiative. As an active member of the ASABE Transitioning Food and Agriculture to Circular Systems Task Force, Modenbach leads a working group responsible for developing activities to engage the Society's membership in the CBS initiative.

In addition, Modenbach has taken charge of coordinating program development and planning CBS Day, a one-day event to be held in conjunction with ASABE's 2023 annual international meeting. This endeavor has allowed her to reconnect with her academic interests in engineering biological processes to reduce or redirect underutilized recovered resources, as she fosters member engagement in sustainable circular bioeconomy systems.
