ABOUT ASABE STANDARDS

STANDARDS - ESSENTIAL TO AGRIBUSINESS
AROUND THE WORLD

ASABE Standards, Engineering Practices, and Data, developed and maintained through the Cooperative Standards Program, provide:

  • A TECHNICAL BASIS for international standardization (ISO/IEC).

  • INTERCHANGEABILITY among interfunctional products manufactured by two or more organizations.

  • REDUCTION IN VARIETY OF COMPONENTS required to serve an industry, thus improving availability and economy.

  • IMPROVED PERSONAL SAFETY during operation of equipment and application of products and materials.

  • PERFORMANCE CRITERIA for products, materials, or systems.

  • A COMMON BASIS FOR TESTING, DESCRIBING, OR INFORMING regarding performance and characteristics of products, materials, or systems.

  • INCREASED EFFICIENCY of engineering effort in design, development,
    and production.

  • DESIGN DATA in readily available form.

  • A SOUND BASIS FOR CODES, LEGISLATION, EDUCATION related to the agricultural industry. Promote uniformity of practice.
