Mechanical citrus harvester increases productivity
The OXBOŽ Freedom SeriesT 3220 Citrus Harvester is a self-propelled machine that works in pairs to harvest citrus fruit grown for juice. The citrus harvester has an automatic trunk sensing/sealing catcher table and an integrated conveyor/cleaning system. These features allow the harvesters to shake the fruit from the tree's branches, clean and discharge the fruit into a grove truck while traveling through the grove. As a continuous-travel harvester, the OXBO Freedom Series 3220 increases productivity and annual harvest capacity. Currently in the United States, manual laborers harvest more than 95 percent of all the processed oranges. The typical handpicking rate is 55 man-hours per semi-truckload. A pair of OXBO Citrus Harvesters is capable of reducing manpower to three to six hours per semi-truckload. This is an average labor productivity increase of 900 percent.
