About ASABE Manuscript Central

Online Submission and Review System

ASABE authors are encouraged to submit their journal manuscripts via ASABE Manuscript Central, our online submission and review system. This Web site is hosted at a location separate from the ASABE site and requires a separate login and password. If you would like to use the same login and password for both, follow the instructions on the online review site to change to the same you use for the ASABE Home Page.

Authors log in to their personal Author Center, or establish a new account if first time users, and upload their manuscripts and any supplemental material such as copyright forms. The manuscripts are routed via the web to the appropriate Division Editors, who route them to Associate Editors in the appropriate subject areas. Associate Editors find three or four reviewers knowledgable in the subject area to review each manuscript. Reviewers access the manuscript and submit their reviews via the online system. Associate Editors work with the authors as needed during revision cycles; ASABE Manuscript Central archives and tracks each version.

This system, begun in late 2003, has reduced the average review time by over 27% with more reductions anticipated. The postal savings, both in time and money, are substantial, particularly for overseas authors and reviewers. Most users find that after they have used the system once it is fast (for example, your name and address fields do not need to be filled in each time) and user-friendly.
