What Happens to The Various Comments and Files Intended for the Author and for the Various Editors

ONLINE REVIEW PROCESS | PAGE 1 | PAGE 2 | PAGE 3 | PAGE 4 | PAGE 5 | PAGE 6

Suppose the DE wants to remove the file the AE had left for the author. Hit the Delete, or use “Hide” and the file is saved on the system with Files for Editors. Now the For Author list is shorter.

Below is the list under “Attach files for Associate Editor” – DE can similarly add and subtract from them.

After checking that the right files are in the Files for Author list, the DE goes to the Decision button, where there’s space to add more comments and also a default letter template.

Here’s the default letter that goes to the author. It is completely editable and differs a bit depending on the decision (Accept, Reject, Revise).

Dear (Author name):
Your manuscript ID# "Title" has gone through an initial review for publication in
Journal Name. The outside reviewers have recommended minor revisions.
I am forwarding you constructive suggestions, from the reviewers and/or editor, to
improve your manuscript. The comments are at the end of this letter and/or in files that
you may access from your Author Center. To see the files, if any, go to the
manuscript listing at your Author Center. Click on "View Letter." The files are listed
below the letter. (If you would like your user ID and password re-sent to you please
contact Support@ScholarOne.com.)
Please work directly with the associate editor, (name and e-mail), as you make your
revisions. Your revised manuscript and your responses to the reviewers' comments will
be sent to the associate editor when you submit them via your Author Center at
http://asaejournals.manuscriptcentral.com. Please be sure to hit the "Save and Continue"
and "Submit" buttons at the far right side of the screen.
The final decision regarding publication will be contingent on your revisions and
responses to the issues raised by the reviewers.
We would appreciate the return of the revised manuscript within four weeks. If this is
not practical, please contact the associate editor (e-mail). ASAE policy is that
manuscripts not returned within six months will be released from consideration for
publication.
Thank you for submitting your manuscript to Journal Name.

Sincerely,
(division editor name & division name)
