ASABE Policy Statement on Diversity

by ASABE Board of Trustees August 1, 2004

ASABE has a history of being a diverse and strong organization. We are committed to continuing that tradition. We value the talent and commitment of all people who study or work in or with the profession of engineering applicable to agricultural, food, and biological systems. Diversity enriches and builds upon the educational experience and improves the practice of engineering. ASABE greatly benefits from diverse and varied perspectives, experiences, and attitudes. We support the opportunity to successful participation of all people in the Society. The ASABE Board of Trustees, volunteer leaders, members, and staff pledge to work diligently to provide and atmosphere of respect for all and to foster the contributions each can make.

ASABE, the Society for engineering in agricultural, food, and biological systems, has 9000 members worldwide and a long history of leadership in solving problems related to erosion control and soil and water quality. ASABE members are uniquely qualified to generate new technical information on soil erosion, translate that information into more effective practices, and ensure that those who produce the world's agricultural goods are educated accordingly
