SCHOLARSHIP

Instructions for Submitting Application

A student may apply to more than one scholarship, as long as all requirements are met. Only one ASABE Foundation funded scholarship will be granted to any one student per academic year.

A yearly scholarship grant of $1,000 will be given to one undergraduate student, with a special interest in agricultural machinery product design and development, who meets the following criteria:

  • is a declared major in biological or agricultural engineering accredited by ABET or CEAB, in U.S. or Canada;
  • has COMPLETED at least one year of undergraduate study and must have at LEAST one year of undergraduate study remaining from the time of application;
  • has a GPA of at least 2.5 (4.0 basis) or equivalent;
  • has a special interest in agricultural machinery product design and
    development; and
  • can attest to the need for financial aid *

* For this grant, financial aid is limited to tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board.

------- How to Apply -------

1) Fill out the official MS Word entry form, which includes writing a brief essay stating why you have selected the design and development of new agricultural machinery products as the area of focus for your degree and the extent of your financial need.

2) Have your department head (or other college official) fill out the endorsement section of the official entry form, corroborating that:

  • you are a declared major in biological or agricultural engineering accredited by ABET or CEAB in U.S. or Canada;
  • you are a student member of ASABE, and the applicant has COMPLETED at least one year of undergraduate study and has at LEAST one year of undergraduate study remaining from the time of application;
  • has a GPA of at least 2.5 (4.0 basis) or equivalent;
  • has a special interest in agricultural machinery product design and
    development; and
  • can attest to the need for financial assistance.

Entries must be received at headquarters on or before March 17

------- Notification of Grant -------

The scholarship program is administered by the ASABE Foundation. The recipient of the grant is selected by the P-120 Student Organizations Committee. The committee reserves the right to not award the scholarship during a particular year. Recipient is notified in early June. Publicity concerning the scholarship winner will occur in a fall issue of Resource and press release.
