2004-2005 Annual Report on
ASABE Senior Actives Community The Senior Actives had an interesting half-day program at the 2004 International Meeting in Ottawa; members had the opportunity to attend the Awards Lunch, and then their choice of tours or staying around to visit with colleagues. A report of the program and the business meeting is available separately, in the 2003-2004 Annual Report..
Naveen Patni, chair and program chair Robert M. Peart, vice-chair John Ogilvie, webmaster Following the 2004 meeting John Ogilvie suggested that arrangements be made for lead up involvement to being the Senior Actives Chair. That is, persons should be elected or appointed so as to become Chair during the year that the Annual meeting is scheduled for their geographic location. Neither the 2003 nor the 2004 Chairs were aware of the intent or format of previous Senior Actives programs. Hence a Vice-chair was sought for the 2006 Portland meeting and a Secretary for the 2007 meeting (originally thought to be in Wisconsin). This arrangement was not the subject of discussion at the 2004 business meeting and hence should be discussed and voted on at the 2005 business meeting. The 2004-5 officers are: Robert M. Peart, chair James de Shazer, Vice-chair Gary Bubenzer, secretary R. Bruce Curry, program chair Other active participants: Naveen Patni - representative to Meetings Committee Donald M. Edwards - representative to P-513 ['Membership Publications Editorial Board' within the Publications Council]. John Ogilvie, webmaster The 2005 program committee, consisting of R. Bruce Curry, G. W. Isaacs, Jody Whitney, Richard Fluck, and Direlle Baird, has arranged an excellent program for the 2005 International Meeting in Tampa.
