Sections,
CSAE & Student Branches
Visits were made to the following sections: Iowa, Ohio, the
University of Nebraska student branch and the CSAE Annual Meeting. There is now
a Section Visit Feedback Form in place by which visiting ASAE representatives
may provide feedback to the Membership Director on a one-page document. It
covers the following areas:

Description of meeting.
-
What agenda items were covered?
-
What feedback was received on HQ from
members?
-
What follow-up is required by HQ staff
on issues discussed?
-
How did the visit impact the meeting
or section?
Section Officer Update electronic
newsletters were sent to section officers on 9/5, 9/30 and 10/29 with
headquarters news and updates. This continues to be an effective means by which
important information may be disseminated to sections in a timely manner.
The ASAE Foundation, with the
endorsement of the Membership Development Council, announced a new funding
program entitled the Grass Roots Incentive Funding Program. In a nutshell, the
program makes funds available, through the ASAE Foundation, to Sections for use
in developing Section activities. Section events are to be held in conjunction
with Section meetings with the primary goal of promoting increased meeting
participation and member benefits. There was one submittal from the Louisiana
Section to fund a fishing trip. It is currently being reviewed by the
Foundation.

Section
Chair Search & E-mail Option
Section
chairs may now search for their section members online and e-mail them directly
through the ASAE Web site. Hopefully, section chairs will use this convenient
option to communicate news with their members.

Group Insurance Plans Online
Members
may now access information on all ASAE Group Insurance Plans online. Here they
will find descriptive information on each plan and who to contact for further
questions. There is a direct link to this information from the Member Services
page on the Web site.
ASAE
Committee Search
From
technical committees to ASAE Councils, all ASAE committees are now available
online with search capabilities. The committee you wish to search may be
selected from a drop down menu. With one click, you will then have access to
that committee's membership with contact information as well as a description
of what the purpose of the committee is.
Career
Services
ASAE
has partnered with Jobhog.net, an online resume hosting and job posting service
for the agricultural, food, natural and life sciences industries. Members may
now post resumes and search for jobs and internships with confidentiality,
which allows resume information to be shared while protecting privacy.
New ASAE Logo Items
We
were pleased to introduce a new line of ASAE logo gift items at the Annual
International Meeting in Chicago where they sold very well. We have the
following items in stock: golf shirts, denim shirts, travel coffee mugs,
luggage tags, can insulators, note pad holders, CD cases and license plates.
