Invoicing - Dues Year 2005
E-mail reminders went to all unpaid members on 12/7/04, 1/18/05 and 2/21/05, while second invoices were mailed on 1/25/05. Third invoices will be mailed the first week in March with one last e-mail reminder blast set for the third week in March. We have scheduled the first week in April to drop all members who have not paid their 2005 dues.

We will once again be using ComNet Marketing to contact each non-student/preprofessional dropped member by phone in late April to urge them to pay their 2005 dues. We will follow up with an exit survey to determine why members did not renew in mid-May.

Sections & Student Branches
Visits were made to the following sections and student branches: Iowa Section.

The Puerto Rico section became active again in December 2004 under the leadership of long-time member Megh Goyal. The section has also challenged other sections to raise funds for the 100th anniversary celebration as they have.

ASAE welcomed two new student branches from the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico and from Modesto Junior College in California.

Preprofessional Officers & Activities
For the fourth consecutive year, the International Preprofessional Council officers held their winter retreat at headquarters in January. They and ASAE staff discussed a number of items, including how to better reach and retain preprofessional members and activities at the upcoming Tampa meeting.

The officers also developed and distributed the fall edition of the preprofessional newsletter with information on regional activities, important dates and a recap of the Ottawa meeting and why it’s important to become involved.

1/4 Scale Tractor Student Design Competition
The eighth annual 1/4 Scale Tractor Student Design Competition is set for June 2 – 5 in East Moline, IL. To date, we have 30 teams registered including first year entries from Tennessee Tech, Modesto Junior College, Utah State University, Nicholls State University and the University of Wyoming.

Overhaul of Member-Only Web Pages
The pages that members see once they log into the ASAE Web site are in the process of a total overhaul to make them more intuitive and user-friendly. The ASAE Web Team has been hard at work to make sure these improvements are in place as soon as possible.
