Baltimore Inner Harbor Tour and Cruise
As part of your registration for the Conference we are pleased to offer a tour of the scenic Baltimore Inner Harbor and the Patapsco River as it joins the Chesapeake Bay. Socialize, network, and view first-hand some of the water quality management taking place within the Chesapeake Bay. Knowledgeable guides will point out some of the key features and the Harbor and discuss management programs that have been conducted in the upper Chesapeake Bay.
Agricultural Research Service OPE3 tour
OPE3 is an interdisciplinary research project started in 1998 addressing major environmental and economic issues facing U.S. agriculture. On this tour you will learn about OPE3 research projects in water, plant nutrients, and pesticides; impacts of these inputs; data collection and analysis techniques; and long-term impacts, both economical and environmental, of crop production systems and management techniques.
University of Maryland Center of Marine Biotechnology (UMBI-COMB)
UMBI is a hub of intensive study into the applied science of biotechnology and its application to human health, the marine environment, agriculture, and protein engineering/structural biology. The Center of Marine Biotechnology (COMB) is an internationally recognized research laboratory devoted to applying the tools of modern biology and biotechnology to study, protect and enhance marine and estuarine resources.
National Aquarium – Baltimore
The National Aquarium is an aquatic education and conservation organization with two locations (Balitmore and Washington D.C.) and one mission: to provide transforming experiences that inspire people to enjoy, respect and protect the aquatic world. The National Aquarium – Baltimore, features three pavilions of exciting attractions and a living collection including more than 16,000 animals from more than 660 species of fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles and marine mammals that live in award-winning habitats.
