Welcome to The Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Specialty Conference

The American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) and the TMDL conference planning committee have committed themselves to developing a high quality educational experience for all that attend this meeting.

This conference will bring together engineers, managers, researchers, producers, and other professionals in the agricultural and environmental industries to exchange information, discuss opportunities and address challenges of the TMDL program.

The technical sessions will focus on the science, engineering, policy, and economics of TMDLs. We have many exciting speakers who will present ideas and information on issues such as agricultural BMP effectiveness, political ramifications of TMDLs, implementation, field and watershed scale modeling, TMDL case studies, TMDL development and process, data collection, data quality, data management, water quality associated with forestry and rangeland, and TMDL allocation issues.

Poster presentation will be displayed in the conference area. Commercial exhibitors will demonstrate and explain their newest products that serve professional engineers in their work related to TMDLs and other waste management areas.

Please be sure to come a day before the conference (March 10th) to attend one of the TMDL workshops and stay one day after to attend a technical tour. The workshops, "The ABC's of TMDLs" and "TMDL Applications Using SWAT" will provide information of critical importance to those working in this field. The technical tour will visit the Bosque River watershed and farms located south of Fort Worth, Texas.

So it is with great excitement that I extend a warm invitation to you to attend the 2002 TMDL conference in historical downtown Fort Worth, Texas. Please plan on being a part of this conference to learn about new technologies and meet people who share the same interests in TMDLs.
