Continuing Education Workshop
TECHNIQUES FOR DEVELOPING DISTRIBUTED APPLICATIONS

Wednesday, March 13

Instructors: Dr. Howard Beck, Jiannong Xin, Petraq Papajorgii, Office of Information Technologes, University of Florida, USA; Seishi Ninomiya, National Agricutural Reserch Center, Japan.
     This one-day workship will explore a variety of tech-niques for developing distributed applications on the Internet, including examples of applications in agriculture and natural resources. Techniques will include Java data-base connectivity (JDBC), distributed objects (COM, RMI and CORBA), Extensible Markup Langauage (XML), and object design techniques using Unified Modeling Language (UML). Please bring a laptop computer.
