The International Affairs Committee of ASABE welcomes members and guests to the ASABE Annual International Meeting. We hope that you will enjoy the meeting, find it a very rewarding experience and will establish many new contacts and friendships. The International Affairs Committee encourages you to attend the International committee meetings and to become actively involved in our activities.

ASABE WELCOME RECEPTION

Location: Exhibit Hall B

All meeting registrants are invited to attend this welcome reception. Start off the evening with a welcome from ASABE’s President Charles Sukup and get acquainted with the general ASABE population in addition to networking with other attendees. Come relax and enjoy an informal evening with ASABE members. Cash Bar.

JAPAN LUNCHEON

This social event for Japanese nationals and their friends during the 2007 ASABE Annual International Meeting will include lunch and an award presentation.

Event #4

ASSOCIATION OF OVERSEAS CHINESE AGRICULTURAL, BIOLOGICAL AND FOOD ENGINEERS (AOCABFE) BUSINESS MEETING AND BANQUET

MONDAY, JUNE 18            6:00PM-7:00PM

Location: 101-A

AOCABFE is a professional association with the primary goal of promoting and facilitating research and educational exchanges with China in areas of agricultural, biological and food engineering. Conference attendees with international interests are invited to attend the AOCABFE business meeting where the AOCABFE activities in 2006-2007 will be  reviewed and plans of action for 2007-2008 will be discussed. There will be a dinner banquet right after the business meeting at a location to be announced. The banquet will provide an excellent opportunity for socializing and networking. Awards will be presented to outstanding student members of AOCABFE at the banquet.

COST: $50 each; $15 for students & members from China

The International Breakfast is a great opportunity to interact with peers from many different countries. If you are coming from abroad or have an interest in international issues this is the best place to meet new people and begin long and fruitful working relationships.

FELLOWS INDUCTION CEREMONY

Location: Ballroom B

All ASABE and CSBE/SCGAB attendees are invited to this special recognition ceremony honoring the 2007 ASABE and CSBE/SCGAB Fellows. Join us for the reception immediately following the ceremony.

CENTENNIAL GALA DINNER

TUESDAY, JUNE 19          7:30PM-10:00PM

Location: Ballroom A

You're lucky enough to be among the few ASABE members in history to witness the Society's 100th anniversary, so don't miss out on the Centennial Gala Dinner — it's the event of the year. Invited speakers, dignitaries, and friends of the Society will be featured in a program designed to honor the profession and toast its future. We'll save a few surprises, too, for this business-formal affair, so be sure to add this event to your Minneapolis itinerary!

AWARDS RECOGNITION LUNCHEON

Location: Ballroom A&B

Plan to attend the most important recognition event of the year. Newly elected Fellows of ASABE and CSBE as well as recipients of major awards will be honored at this luncheon. Also recognized will be preprofessionals and other individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the profession during the past year. The installation of ASABE's 2007 President, Donald Erbach, will immediately follow the awards presentation.

COST: Included with full meeting registration and
