On behalf of the CSBE/SCGAB, I
welcome all of the participants, especially Canadian members, to this year’s
ASABE meeting. This is a very special
occasion for all of us to join ASABE in celebrating the 100th birthday of the
Agricultural and Biological Engineering profession. The CSBE/SCGAB agreed at their 2006 AGM to
hold their 2007 annual general meeting outside
CSBE/SCGAB is a constituent
member of ASABE with the President serving on the Board of Trustees and with
representation on all of the ASABE councils.
The mission of the CSBE/SCGAB is similar to that of the ASABE, to
promote engineering excellence in biological, environmental, food and bioenergy production and processing systems. The CSBE/SCGAB
will be a half century old next year in 2008. The Golden Jubilee celebration
will take place in beautiful

Vision for CSBE. The review and discussion will be based on a document entitled
Development of Strategic Goals for CSBE/SCGAB, prepared by the CSBE President

workshop is open to all CSBE members.

2007 President, Donald Erbach, will immediately follow
the awards presentation.
