Greetings! I'd like to thank everyone who was able to attend the Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference (AETC) in
2006 and extend an invitation to participate in AETC 2007.
More than 220 people attended AETC 2006, where the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) series had strong participation,
the standards sessions were well attended, technical tours were fully booked, poster presentations exceeded expectations,
and the quality of presentations remained top notch. AETC 2007 will be no different as it will mimic the activities
and efforts of 2006 and also be held in conjunction with the International Conference on Crop Harvesting and Processing (ICCHP)
for the third time. Once again AETC will precede the National Farm Machinery Show February 11th - 14th ,2007 in Louisville, KY.
ASABE will be celebrating its 100th anniversary next year in Minneapolis, Minnesota. AETC/ICCHP
will serve as a spring board into this celebration as the focus for the conference will be on developing standards,
continuing professional development, leveling the challenges of harvesting and processing crops for international success,
and encouraging student participation, for the next 100 years. Engineering standards, biomass harvest and utilization,
best practices for weld designs and welding theory and techniques, power transmission design considerations, advancements in
hydraulic technologies, alternative fuels, new product presentations, global positioning systems / robotics, and
International Quarter Scale Tractor are just a few of the topics that will be highlighted at this conference.
New for AETC 2007 will be a hands on session at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center to help establish
braking standards for the tractor and implement interface.
AETC 2007 will also feature keynote luncheon speakers, a distinguished lecture series, and
technical poster presentations on topics ranging in content from senior design (including 1/4 scale tractor) to
leading edge technological research.
On behalf of the AETC planning committee, ASABE, and ICCHP it is my pleasure to invite you to join us for the third
AETC/ICCHP 2007 conference.
We look forward to meeting with you in Louisville, KY.
