 Jim Wessing, President, Kondex Corporation

"Manufacturing: Dispelling Workforce Myths, Developing its Future"

Jim Wessing is passionate for the advancement of manufacturing – both at Kondex Corporation, which he co-founded in 1974, as
well as the industry and its workforce. Having grown his business from a two-man operation to a global supplier of agriculture, lawn and turf, construction, and forestry cutting and wear components, Wessing emphasizes the importance of investments in technology and people.

In addition to leading a team of approximately 300 associates at Kondex’s corporate headquarters in Lomira, Wisconsin, Wessing also serves as a leader in workforce development throughout his communities. He has helped improve and grow
technical education departments in area high schools, and actively promotes manufacturing to students, guidance counselors, and parents. His industry and local contributions have been recognized by several organizations. Awards include FEMA’s Golden Presidents Club; the C.P. Nicholson Memorial Award; the 2000 CCLT Distinguished Graduate Award; 2009 Lomira FBLA Business Person of the Year; and 2013 Lomira Area Citizen of the Year.

Wessing is a trustee of the UW Memorial Union Building Association and Board Director of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. He is past president of the Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association and the Wisconsin Buy Recycled Business
Alliance. He is a member of TEC (The Executive Committee), past chairman of his church council, and long-time Junior Achievement instructor. Wessing holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
