More about ASABE's

FOUNDATION SILENT AUCTION

How it works

Donated items are placed on display in the exhibit hall at the ASABE Annual International Meeting. Accompanying each item will be an individual bid sheet. The bid sheet identifies the item, its value, its donor, the opening bid amount, and the minimum amount that each bid may be raised.
The event is called a silent auction because no auctioneer is involved: a bidder simply writes his or her entry on the bid sheet, raising the previous bid by at least the increment specified. The winning bidder is the one whose bid is the highest when the signal is given for the close of the auction.
ASABE's Foundation Silent Auction will begin when the exhibit hall is open--as early as 8:00 am, Sunday, June 29. The auction will close promptly at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, June 1.

Some Silent Auction Tips

Be sure to check your bids throughout the Annual International Meeting: you'll want to know whether you're bidding against someone else and have the chance to consider raising your offer. And don't be afraid to bid beyond the item's stated value: the difference between the value and a winning bid amount that exceeds that number generally is tax deductible--a bonus for your generosity!

A list of available items for the 2008 Auction will be posted shortly. Do you have an item you'd like to donate? Click here for the donor form.
