NAMIC ENGINEERING SAFETY AWARD
Instructions for Preparing a Nomination
Please use the nomination form for submitting a nomination. The nominator of the candidate for the NAMIC Engineering Safety Award shall submit a completed nomination form to headquarters by October 31.
All award nomination forms and letters of support are to be submitted to ASABE headquarters in the following electronic format only. Hard copy sent via regular mail will no longer be accepted.
The nomination form and required letters of support are to be sent as PDF files emailed to the attention of ASABE Awards Administrator, Carol Flautt - flautt@asabe.org Nomination forms and letters of support submitted in this format will allow headquarters to send the documents electronically to the award selection committee. It is the responsibility of the nominator and authors of the support letters to verify that the PDF file appears as intended.
The required letters of support can be included with the nomination form or sent separately as a PDF file emailed to the attention of ASABE Awards Administrator, Carol Flautt - flautt@asabe.org by October 31.

Purpose
of the Award
To encourage and to recognize
outstanding contributions to research, design, education, or promotion, which
advance agricultural safety engineering. These contributions shall have been
either in the form of notable performance, product innovation, program
innovation, published literature, and/or special actions which have served to
advance agricultural safety. This award is not intended to recognize longevity
of service only, but should always focus on the safety significance of a
program, activity, or design. However, individuals making continuous long-term
safety contributions are also eligible for consideration.
The
Award
The name of the award shall be
the NAMIC Engineering Safety Award. The award is sponsored by the National
Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC), 3601 Vincennes Road, P.O.
Box 68700, Indianapolis, IN 46268. This award was formerly called the Packer
Engineering Safety Award.
The M-157 NAMIC Engineering
Safety Award Committee will be responsible for the selection of the award
recipient with final approval by the M-102 Awards Coordinating Committee.
The award shall consist of an
appropriately engraved desk pen set. It will be presented to an individual and
shall be a single award presented annually at the Annual International Meeting
of the Society.
NOTE:
Those nominating a candidate will be advised only if their candidate is
selected. Each nominee will be considered by the award committee for two
additional years if not selected the year nominated.
Eligibility
for the Award
The recipient shall be a member
of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. The recipient shall have
made noteworthy contributions to the advancement of safety as described above
under
"Purpose of the Award."

PACKER
Engineering Safety Award
|
The
Packer Engineering Safety Award -- named the NAMIC Engineering
Safety Award since 1998 -- is given annually to
encourage and recognize outstanding contributions to the advancement of
agricultural safety engineering in research, design, education or promotion. To
be eligible, a nominee must be a member of ASABE and have made noteworthy
contributions that have served to advance agricultural safety. Packer
Engineering Associates, Inc. sponsored the award prior to 1998. The award
consists of an engraved desk pen set.
