Instructions for Preparing a Nomination
Please use the nomination form for submitting a nomination. The nominator of the candidate for the Massey-Ferguson Gold Medal Educational Award shall submit a completed nomination form to headquarters by October 31.
All award nomination forms and letters of support are to be submitted to ASABE headquarters in the following electronic format only. Hard copy sent via regular mail will no longer be accepted.
The nomination form and required letters of support are to be sent as PDF files emailed to the attention of ASABE Awards Administrator, Carol Flautt - flautt@asabe.org Nomination forms and letters of support submitted in this format will allow headquarters to send the documents electronically to the award selection committee. It is the responsibility of the nominator and authors of the support letters to verify that the PDF file appears as intended.
The required letters of support can be included with the nomination form or sent separately as a PDF file emailed to the attention of ASABE Awards Administrator, Carol Flautt - flautt@asabe.org by October 31.

Purpose of the Award
To honor those whose dedication
to the sprit of learning and teaching in the field of agricultural engineering
has advanced with distinction our agricultural knowledge and practice and whose
efforts serve as an inspiration to others.
The
Award
The name of the award shall be
the Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Medal Award. A tribute to Daniel Massey,
pioneer-innovator and agricultural machinery manufacturer; and Harry Ferguson,
inventor whose unique educational approaches made a lasting contribution to
worldwide agricultural mechanization. The selection of recipients for the
Massey-Ferguson Gold Medal Educational Award is made by the M-112 Massey-Ferguson Gold Medal
Educational Award Committee, with final approval by the M-102 Awards
Coordinating Committee.
The award shall consist of a gold
medal that has the likeness of Daniel Massey and Harry Ferguson, co-founder of
Massey-Ferguson, Inc. appearing on the front of the medal. It will be presented
to an individual and presented annually at the Annual International Meeting of
the Society.
NOTE:
Those nominating a candidate will be advised only if their
candidate is selected. Each nominee will be considered by the award committee
for two additional year if not selected the year nominated.
Eligibility
for the Award
The recipient shall be a member
of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. The recipient shall have
made noteworthy contributions to learning and teaching in the field of
agricultural engineering and advanced agricultural knowledge and practice and
whose efforts have served as an inspiration to others, as described above under
"Purpose of the Award".

Established in 1965, the award is named for
Daniel Massey, pioneer innovator and agricultural machinery
manufacturer, and Harry Ferguson, inventor and ardent exponent
of agricultural mechanization.
The purpose of the award is "To honor those whose dedication
to the spirit of learning and teaching in the field of agricultural
engineering has advanced our agricultural knowledge and
practice, and whose efforts serve as an inspiration to others."
Likenesses of Daniel Massey and Harry Ferguson, co-founders
of Massey-Ferguson, Inc. appear on the front of the gold
medal.
