GALE A. HOLLOWAY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD

Instructions for Preparing a Nomination

Please use the nomination form for submitting a nomination. The nominator of the candidate for the Gale A. Holloway Professional Development Award shall submit a completed nomination form to headquarters by October 31.

All award nomination forms and letters of support are to be submitted to ASABE headquarters in the following electronic format only. Hard copy sent via regular mail will no longer be accepted.

The nomination form and required letters of support are to be sent as PDF files emailed to the attention of ASABE Awards Administrator, Carol Flautt - flautt@asabe.org Nomination forms and letters of support submitted in this format will allow headquarters to send the documents electronically to the award selection committee. It is the responsibility of the nominator and authors of the support letters to verify that the PDF file appears as intended.

The required letters of support can be included with the nomination form or sent separately as a PDF file emailed to the attention of ASABE Awards Administrator, Carol Flautt - flautt@asabe.org by October 31.

Purpose of the Award

To encourage and recognize outstanding leadership and active involvement in ASABE for early career members.

The Award

The name of the award shall be the Gale A. Holloway Professsional Development Award. The award was endowed by the generous contributions from friends, relatives, colleagues and industry. The award first presented in 2008 was established in memory of Gale A. Holloway, Past President of ASABE, and Past President of the ASABE Foundation and Fellow. The award acknowledges and perpetuates Gale's dedication to assisting Pre-Professionals and early career ASABE members to become active members and work diligently to enhance the quality of meetings, technical information and professional development within ASABE at both the national and sectional level. Gale was passionate in assuring that early career members were actively involved in the professional, technical and networking activities at ASABE meetings.

The selection of recipients for the Gale A. Holloway Professional Development Award shall be made by the M-163 Gale A. Holloway Professional Development Award Committee, with the final approval by the M-102 Awards Coordinating Committee. One Award shall be made each year as long as the nominations are deemed worthy by the M-163 Selection Committee.

The award shall consist of an appropriately engraved recognition item presented at the Annual International Meeting of the Society.

NOTE: : Those nominating a candidate will be advised only if their candidate is selected. Each award nominee will be considered by the award committee for two additional years if not selected the year nominated, as long as the candidate remains an ASABE member in good standing and is into ten (10) years or less of professional work experience.


Eligibility for the Award

The recipient must be a member of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers and is into their tenth year as of January 15 of the year being selected, or less than 10 years of professional work experience, and have made outstanding leadership contributions to ASABE. The recipient must be willing to be present to receive the award at the Annual International Meeting of the Society.
