The Undergraduate Project Poster Competition is held at the ASABE Annual International Meeting. This competition encourages ASABE undergraduate student members to interact with industry, faculty and fellow students by giving a technical poster presentation that showcases the student’s work on a project related to agricultural and biological engineers. The goal of the poster competition is to develop the ability of undergraduate students to conduct research and competitively present those research findings to judges and an interested audience of professionals.
Winners will receive cash awards of $500, $300, and $200 for first, second, and third places, respectively. Posters will be evaluated equally in two main categories: project and presentation. The project portion will focus on the technical content of the poster, while the presentation section will evaluate both the presenter(s) and poster appeal.
All current ASABE undergraduate and graduate student members who received a Bachelor's degree less than one year prior to the Annual International Meeting are eligible. Participants in the AGCO National Student Design Competition and K.K. Barnes Student Paper Competition are ineligible for the Undergraduate Project Poster Competition.
Send a brief summary of your project to Connor West by June 5. Check-in for competition participants will be during the International Preprofessional Community Business Meeting. The competition will be held July 16, 2017 - location and time to be determined. Winners will be announced at the AEM/ASABE Student Awards Breakfast in Spokane, WA. Poster display boards will be approximately 3'10" x 7' 10. Attachment media will be provided by the poster session coordinator.
