Research Specialist/Rice Drying and Quality Evaluation University of Arkansas
The University of Arkansas is seeking applicants for a 12-month Research Specialist position. The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical and organizational staff person in the area of rice drying and resultant quality evaluation and will be supervised by the Coordinator of the Rice Processing Program. The successful applicant will not only provide leadership in conducting rice drying research, but will also assist the Coordinator in overall Program activities.

Requirements include an MS in Food Science or Food Engineering or an applicable BS with significant experience in grain drying and processing. Preference will be given to applicants having technical experience in rice operations and quality measurement, and supervisory experience in program/laboratory management. Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist Position Open:

The Extension Specialist will work with faculty and students to develop and implement education and applied research programs addressing stormwater engineering issues. Primary responsibilities will be to provide technical leadership for urban stormwater projects located throughout North Carolina. These programs involve coordination, including training and educational support, among County Extension Agents, municipalities and other partnering organizations, private landowners, and NCSU faculty and students. The Extension Specialist will be responsible for programs which may include demonstration and evaluation of innovative techniques for stormwater treatment including but not limited to stormwater wetlands, bio-retention areas, green roofs and other stormwater treatment practices to control non-point source pollution. The Extension Specialist will develop educational materials, lead field tours, and conduct workshops. The position requires travel and field work throughout North Carolina. The Academic Programs responsibilities will include teaching at the advanced undergraduate or graduate level of a course in stormwater management, the direction of Masters and PhD students, advising senior design student groups, and participating in recruitment and placement activities within the department.
