What is ASAE?

ASAE is a not-for-profit professional and technical organization whose members are involved or interested in engineering and technology for agricultural, food, and biological systems. With members in more than 100 countries, the Society offers every member a world of opportunities. And it’s a great place to be a student.
Imagine attending an international meeting where world-renowned researchers are announcing the results of their work, applications of research are being discussed, industry standards are being developed, and lively debates about how best to use the planet’s natural resources are taking place. As a student ASAE member, you would be welcome at any of these sessions. And that’s only the beginning.

ASAE Student Members Offered World of Opportunities
ASAE student members include some of the most involved young people in the world. And you can bet they’re making a difference!
Their achievements begin with an idea, determination, and a Society that empowers them to reach for a dream. Future leaders of tomorrow, ASAE students are blazing new trails, sharing ideas, gaining confidence, and developing their professional career.
ASAE membership will bring you the opportunities to be the best you can be in your chosen career.

. An academic year subscription to the monthly magazine, Resource: Engineering & Technology for a Sustainable World.

. Reduced registration for ASAE conferences and international meetings. Students at ASAE’s annual international meetings attend career planning seminars, student mixers, and more. Students are also welcome to participate in virtually all of the professionals activities including technical sessions, rap sessions, and technical tours. Talk about networking opportunities!

Don’t forget the ASAE Student Branches
Most of the universities listed on page 28 have ASAE Student Branches. These clubs provide an excellent opportunity to meet, work, and have fun with other like-minded students. The branches organize technical tours to local industries, develop their own fund-raising events, host cookouts and receptions for alumni and faculty, form athletic teams, take trips, compete as a team in ASAE international competitions, and get together to have fun.

Sound like a lot?
It is. Cost a lot? No way. For just $19 a year, a college student can become a student member of ASAE, entitled to all of the benefits described above.
